Your home needs to reflect you and your taste! At Nelson Designs, we love helping our clients discover the best use and design for their particular homes. These clients trusted us to meet their needs and desires, and we had a wonderful time doing just that!
Comfortable Family Spaces
Here is a large family room that needed to be comfortable for a family to watch TV and enjoy the beautiful view. The sectional is great for sitting or napping, while the swivel chairs are perfect for visiting or watching TV. We started with the sectional, and the swivel chairs came next. To carry the color throughout the room, we used the same fabric from the chairs in the drapes and picked a mix of colors in the accent pillows.
The antique glass adds lots of color to the room and reflects beautifully in the large mirror. The coffee table is just the right shape for the space, allowing for movement without bumping into corners. One of my favorite accents is the oval end table, which fits the height of the sectional arm and isn’t too big for the space.

Cozy Corner for Pets
These puppies have found their favorite spot in their home! The mixture of fabrics, colors, and textures makes it look and feel cozy. Mixing the neutral tones of grey and cream allows for pops of color throughout the room, as seen in the lumbar pillow. The artwork emphasizes the mix of colors, while combining warm and cool tones helps set the mood. The black accent wall lets the colors shine. Don’t be afraid to choose colors that make you happy; just be sure to balance tones around the room.

Functional and Inviting Designs
Perfect home design is about making the room usable, comfortable, and inviting. These clients wanted to showcase their collection of antique glass and travel mementos. At Nelson Designs, we love helping people find the best use of each room while showcasing the owners' interests. The blue sofas and white chairs complement the tones in the area rug, allowing the golden tones of glass to truly shine. The gold accents on the end table and large oval vases tie the colors together nicely.

The Versatile Round Table
The perfect round table is a standout piece here. It features an intriguing gold metal base with a glass top that is simple to keep clean. If you have an unusual setup in your dining area, you might be surprised by how easily a round table accommodates movement in your room.

Light and Airy Living
Here’s a new build that we had the pleasure of working on this year. The open design and light airiness make it perfect for this couple and their beloved cats. The large room required a sizable coffee table, and we chose a cream one with beautiful bronze accents. The accent color of blue was drawn from the area rug and incorporated in the chair print as well as the solid blue accent pillows. We used warm metal tones on the accent table, entry table, and accessories. By distributing the colors throughout the room, everything feels balanced and comfortable.

Elegant Bathroom Remodel
One of our last projects this year was a bathroom remodel. The walls are white, adorned with white tile that features a strip of black down the middle of the shower. We echoed the black in the countertop and mirror frame, as well as the shower head. Adding interest to the walls, beautiful glass plates were hung above the toilet, and a 4x5 ft painting was hung opposite the mirror to introduce vibrant red into the black and white color scheme.

Refreshing a Timeless Space
This house was a delightful project from about ten years ago. Our lovely clients wanted an update, and we had a great time replacing the dark furniture with lighter, brighter tones. The sectional fits the space perfectly and adds wonderful, comfortable seating. In a setup like this, a round or oval coffee table or ottoman works beautifully. We also streamlined the mantel decor, replacing numerous small objects with fewer but larger, impactful pieces.

A Year of Transformation
All in all, 2024 was an interesting year, and these are just a few of the projects we worked on. We witnessed a rebirth of color, with a great interest in green, blue, and warm ocher tones leading the way. More people seek a cleaner look in their homes, reflecting minimalism on tables and shelves. Wall art trends included many multiples, along with large oversized art and mirrors.
It will be intriguing to see what 2025 brings into the home decor world. At Nelson Designs, we offer over 6000 fabrics and 150 vendors to find the perfect items for your home or office. We take pride in carrying furniture made in the United States. Our designers have many years of experience, and our own delivery crew goes above and beyond.
